ABOUT

OUR VET

Our veterinarian is Dr. Hugh McClelland. Doctor Hugh grew up locally in Fruit Cove and graduated from Nease High School in 1997, where he was a National Merit Finalist and played baseball. After earning a degree in Religion from Wabash College, he worked in the veterinary industry and voluteered for Americorps before attending the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine, where he graduated with Honors in 2010. He then completed a rigorous veterinary internship training program in South Florida, followed by seven years as an emergency veterinarian, first in Gainesville and then in St. Augustine. Dr. Hugh and his wife Terri now reside in Nocatee with their wonderful children Picchu (age 6) and Hamilton (age 4), Cedar the cat, and rescue dog Gus. On his days off you might run into Dr. Hugh with his family at the local dog park or beach, exploring nature, rooting for the Jacksonville Jaguars and Jumbo Shrimp, and enjoying the Florida sunshine.
